Raptors' Weems joins Lithuanian team
With the uncertainty of the NBA lockout hanging overhead, Raptors guard Sonny Weems has joined a Lithuanian basketball team.
The contract will keep Weems with Zalgiris for all of next season, regardless if the lockout, which began July 1, ends. The deal was announced on the Lithuanian club's website Friday.
Weems, who turned 25 years old Friday, averaged 9.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 59 games for the Raptors last season, his third in the NBA.
